The political rivalry between Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy and N. Chandrababu Naidu has once again come to the forefront, with a heated fans war erupting over the Amaravati 3 capitals debate. A recent video discussion showcased the depth of the divide, where passionate supporters of both leaders defended their political icons and their visions for Andhra Pradesh’s future.

Supporters of Jagan Mohan Reddy strongly criticized Chandrababu Naidu’s tenure, accusing his government of forcefully acquiring farmlands from villagers for the Amaravati capital project. They argued that despite acquiring more than 33,000 acres of land, Naidu failed to build significant infrastructure, leaving only a temporary secretariat in place. According to them, Jagan’s electoral victory was driven by widespread dissatisfaction with Naidu’s incomplete promises and lack of progress.

On the other side, Chandrababu Naidu’s supporters highlighted his vision of transforming Amaravati into a world-class city, similar to his earlier contribution in developing Hyderabad’s HITEC City. They stressed that Naidu had already initiated several projects, including government offices, apartments, and stadiums, before being voted out. His business-friendly approach, they believe, is the key to ensuring economic growth and development across Andhra Pradesh.

Beyond the fan wars, the Amaravati capital issue continues to dominate the political landscape. Jagan’s three-capital plan—Amaravati as the legislative capital, Visakhapatnam as the executive capital, and Kurnool as the judicial capital—was introduced to decentralize development. However, this plan faced legal hurdles, with the Andhra Pradesh High Court ruling against it. The matter is now under review in the Supreme Court.

With the recent change in government, the Amaravati project has gained momentum again. Reports suggest that infrastructure development and administrative towers are being revived, signaling a renewed focus on establishing Amaravati as a central hub.

The fans war reflects a much larger political battle that has defined Andhra Pradesh politics for nearly a decade. Whether Amaravati remains the sole capital or becomes part of a decentralized three-capital system, the outcome will play a critical role in shaping the state’s future and the legacies of both Jagan Mohan Reddy and Chandrababu Naidu.
